EALSTAR has without doubt added robustness, consistency and credibility to our approach to EAL learners. It gives us a definitive assessment which we can rely upon to then undertake targeted interventions leading to greater progress. It is easy to use and reliable. We use it in conjunction with Learning Village and are very happy with this joint approach to assessment and pupil development.

EAL STAR is a brilliant assessment tool. It has been very well designed to give an accurate proficiency level of the individual student. I would definitely recommend this platform.

EAL Star has become an essential part of our EAL strategy at Emerson Valley, providing consistent, reliable and measurable data regarding our pupils' English proficiency levels. This allows us to target interventions, in-class support and ultimately accelerate children's acquisition and development in their English. The system is easy to use and covers all the bases of writing, reading, speaking and listening all in one reliable online system. The data it provides and advice to adults to move move children through the bands is very useful too. I would recommend to any school.

We have searched for a long time and used so many other paper based options, other online options and nothing ever quite fit us as a school. This changed last year when EAL STAR was brought out. It is simple and quick to use, the students love it and it provides clear strategies for teachers to move students forward to progress to the next level. We particularly love that it is intuitive so knows when someone is struggling and the assessment needs to end, this removes so much stress for the kids and also enables us to really see progress as they get further each time and give more accurate answers. 100% recommend to all.

We have had this platform for the last six months and have used it to assess our EAL students twice. It is user friendly, for staff assessing and kids taking the tests. I also like the suggested ways to help students move up bands and the explanations of them- it's so easy to share the information with teachers at school so they can better support our EAL pupils.

I find this platform extremely user-friendly. It allows me to keep all assessments in one place and provides brilliant strategies to help students move to the next band. I love how simple it is, unlike some really complicated assessment tools. In addition, most of the assessment is automatically marked, saving me time. I really like EAL Star and have re-subscribed for a second year.

Having tried many different systems we have finally found one that meets our needs and is really user friendly.

This is such a great platform. It is so easy to use and finally delivers tangible, objective results on students’ progress across the four skills. The ‘Next Steps for Teachers’ are a great resource to share across the school and the Band system is easy to understand for all parties. I highly recommend EAL Star.

I was new to the role of EAL lead and lost at how to test or support my students. I came across EAL Star and it has made such a positive impact. Not only have I now been able to test my students, this service has ensured that all students getting the support they need as the programme provides clear guidelines on the level they are at in each skill but also advice and support on what next steps to take. It is so simple to use yet so effective!

Edit to add - During our recent OFSTED monitoring visit, they were highly impressed with the use of EAL STAR and the quality of assessment student's were receiving and stated "Pupils' English language skills are assessed precisely".
